When is Purnima in 2026?

Purnima falls on 26 September 2026. That date is calculated for New Delhi; because the tithi begins and ends at a local clock time, Ganak recomputes it for your own city.

How is Purnima observed?

Satyanarayan puja may be done on many auspicious days; Purnima is especially common. Evening puja is practical because the fast can end with Panchamrit and prasad.

What are the food and fasting rules for Purnima?

The fasting level varies: fruit/milk or a simple one-meal fast are common household forms. Do not label the wheat panjiri prasad “grain-free”; it is eaten only after paran.

When is the parana — breaking the fast — for Purnima?

After the puja and aarti, first receive Panchamrit, then prasad and a light meal. Satyanarayan's evening puja date can differ from the sunrise-based Purnima fasting date, so check whether you are following the puja or fasting observance.

How does Purnima vary by region?

Many homes perform evening Satyanarayana Puja with family and neighbours. Guru, Sharad and Kartika Purnima retain their own festival-specific worship.
